Connaught was historically one of Ireland’s five provinces (the others being Ulster, Leinster, Meath, and Munster), named after the ancient tribe known as the Connachta. An alternate title, “The Silver Mines” (also “Silvermines (2)”), appears in Petrie’s Complete Collection (1905), though Breathnach dismisses it as a “faulty version.”
