Composed in the late 1960s by County Donegal fiddler Tommy Peoples, this reel remains popular among local musicians and is sometimes simply called “Tommy Peoples.” According to Caoimhin Mac Aoidh, it may have originated as a two-part tune, to which Peoples added a third part (or a variation of the second). The title references the townland where Peoples’ uncle lived, near the village of St. Johnston in east Donegal—adjacent to the fiddler’s own home place.
